Meeting Piper
Shared by Marty Strohm
Circa the year 2000, I was one of the eight (yes eight) fine roomies, including Piper's lesser half Chris, living at the infamous 410 Cole Street in San Francisco. During this period Chris was staying particularly busy working at FCB on the Sega Dreamcast Launch. The 410 gang missed seeing Chris around the house, and would compare notes on the last time we'd spotted him coming and going. One evening, Chris came home...and he brought a friend. Piper was introduced to the crew. I recall my first impression of Piper being both kind and lovely. I also recall thinking perhaps Chris hadn't been as busy (with work) as he let on...and that he must really like this lady if he was willing to bring her around the near feral lot of us living on Cole Street. Half a lifetime later, with many moments, memories, and chili dogs in between, I'm very excited to wish you a wonderful 50th birthday Piper. Long may you run!
