She was very happy to be living in Sonoma and while I only spent a few years getting to know her, she was able to see that her little girl was with someone who loved her immensely.

Seeing Piper interact with my parents Jack and Ellen (Chris's grandparents) warmed my heart.

After a looooong drive down I-75 to Miami, I had my first Phish experience with you and the crew - including a "Piper" opener on night two that will remain an all-time, top tier version. I remember listening to the new Galactic album you got for x-mas on the drive down ("Ruckus"), playing tv tag on the beach late-night, drinks at some fancy bar with the hip Miami locals (The Cavalier?) and generally having a blast!!

Our first trip to Costa Rica. We left from a weekend of seeing Phish in Las Vegas and almost missed our connecting flight in Dallas because we fell asleep at the wrong gate. We had an awesome trip including this day on the beach where the sunset was absolutely insane. We saw monkeys in Manuel Antonio but the best was the town of Montezuma.

Nate & Teri were one of the first of our friends to get married and I think the first to have a destination wedding. They were married at a small resort north of Sayulita in Mexico.

A weekend long wedding in the Mayacamas mountain range of Calistoga. We had lifelong friends and our family celebrate with us and a dance party like none other.

Honeymoon in Greece! We spent the first few days exploring Athens, then hit the islands. Santorini, Mykonos, and Crete. Santorini was full of honeymooners. I don't think I've seen views quite like this in the 20 years since we were there. Mykonos was also beautiful and where we rented a scooter to explore the island. In Crete, we stayed at the Blue Palace and had our own swimming pool. The ferry down to Crete was a bit rough, but other than that it was a perfect trip.

Piper was one of my bridesmaids. Brian and I got married in Maui in July.

Our friends had some pretty awesome weddings in some pretty spectacular places. We went to Maui for Meesh and Brian's wedding...one of my highlights was seeing how Piper dominated the tennis tournament.

This was a super fun way to celebrate our one year anniversary. The flight was full of amazing views of SF and Marin on a sunny day in September.

Trip to Sayulita for Chris and Kara's wedding. They got married at a crazy nice house with an incredible view of the ocean.

Magoo was the first dog we adopted back in 2005. He was a bow legged, brindle, old man dog who walked like a cowboy. We gave him a great final few years of his life.

My Morning Jacket decided to come to the Greek Theater in Berkeley for Piper's 33rd birthday! We rented a party bus and hosted the after party.

Otis! We adopted our second dog, Otis. He moved with us down to Santa Monica where we found him an even better home after Paige was born.

This was one of my favorite trips into the city. It was a beautiful night. We were all together enjoying a fun dinner. It was March 7. I left to go back to Michigan on March 10. A few days later the world was turned upside down. Covid!! I couldn't go back for 18 months.
